Today, I got my first taste of Odyssey of the Mind, as my nephew, J, competed in the 2014 World Finals with his team from Woodruff Elementary. I only watched two other teams perform, and it's also possible that I have an extreme bias, but I thought J's team was the best thing ever. I abso-lutely loved their show. And while I admit that I may be more emotional than the average 6'4" guy, I quickly found tears welling up in my eyes. I was such a proud uncle this morning, and I'm pretty sure that my wife, sitting right next to me, was a very proud aunt. That, in turn, made me a proud husband. It was just a real cycle of emotion, pride, and awesome. Terrific job, J. We're already looking forward to next year.
